Microneedling Treatment

At Juniper + Sage we pride ourselves on using the best (and safest) products and treatments for our clients, which is why we have paired with SkinPen and Anteage to bring you the SUPERIOR results possible from your microneedling session. Microneeding, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a treatment that causes micro injuries from the 14 tiny needles penetrating the treated area at a variation of depths. Unlike at home rollers which can tear the skin, microneedling causes precise microchannels in the dermal layer which stimulates your body’s natural healing process causing a production of collagen and elastin. Microneedling is used to treat a variety of conditions, including melasma (sunspots), fine lines and wrinkles, acne scarring, body scarring, skin crepiness, large pores, and skin texture.

“I had such an amazing experience with Amanda. I have a slight fear of needles and I felt completely comfortable and Amanda made sure I was okay. She is very knowledgeable in what she is doing. She was also very mindful to not over do anything and I couldn’t be happier with my results. I am most definitely recommend her to anyone and will be coming back for sure!!”

Treatment Description

To begin, a numbing cream will be applied to all areas to be treated. After numbed and cleansed, a series of small, painless micro-injuries will be caused at specialized depths on the skin’s surface. The procedure itself takes approximately 1 hour to perform depending on the surface area being treated. After we are done, a topical cream is placed on the skin to lock in moisture and help boost the body’s innate healing response. Results will continue to improve over the next month. It is recommended to have 3 treatments performed 1 month apart to see the biggest benefit. Treatments can be maintained as often as wanted, with at least 1 month between each session.

This treatment causes 24-48 hours of downtime where your skin will appear red, or sunburnt and may feel warm or tight. Careful consideration will be placed on after care to ensure optimal results are achieved. For 12 hours we will ask you to apply nothing to your face but what you are sent home with. After at least 12 hours you can apply sunscreen. For 24 hours we will ask you to not wear makeup, avoid touching the face with unclean hands, and to continue to apply the at-home moisturizers provided to you in the clinic. For 72 hours avoid excessive sweating and limit sun exposure. We will also tell you to avoid the use of “active” skincare, meaning any retinols or Vitamin Cs.

Prior to coming in for your treatment we will ask you to avoid the use of any “active” skincare, such examples include retinols and Vitamin Cs. If you have received a neurotoxin treatment, a window of at least 5 days needs to occur before your microneedling treatment can be performed. We will also ask you to arrive with a clean face, free of makeup.

FAQs

How does microneedling work?

Microneedling creates thousands of “micro channels” skin punctures per second to stimulate the skin’s natural wound healing process – inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling – to prompt tissue remodeling without causing scar tissue formation.

How should I prepare for my treatment?

Prior to coming in for your treatment we ask you to avoid the use of any “active” skincare products such as retinols and Vitamin Cs.

f you have received a neurotoxin treatment, a window of at least 5 days needs to occur before your microneedling treatment can be performed.

We also ask that you arrive with a clean face, free of makeup.

Is there downtime after microneedling?

Microneedling treatment generally causes 24-48 hours of downtime where your skin will appear red or sunburnt and may feel warm or tight. Most patients can return to normal activities after this timeframe.

How long does microneedling take?

Microneedling treatments typically take about 1 hour, with 20 minutes to numb prior to the actual procedure.

How long before I see results?

Results are a gradual progression over the month post treatment with optimal results seen after 3 treatments.

What aftercare do I need to plan for?

For 12 hours, we ask that you to apply nothing to your face except for what you are sent home with.

After at least 12 hours you can apply sunscreen.

For 24 hours, we ask that you not wear or apply makeup, avoid touching your face with unclean hands, and to continue to apply the at home moisturizers provided to you in clinic.

For 72 hours, avoid excessive sweating and limit sun exposure. Also avoid the use of “active” skincare products such as retinols or Vitamin Cs.

Is microneedling a safe treatment?

Yes. We use SkinPen’s patent-pending – and single-use – sterile needle cartridge, which is built with safety in mind. SkinPen is also surrounded by a proprietary BioSheath that acts as a barrier to prevent cross contamination between procedures. That’s part of the reason SkinPen by Crown Aesthetics is the world’s first FDA-cleared microneedling device.

3.

$500/ 1 treatment or $1,200/ 3 treatments

This package uses the power of your own growth factors derived from your own plasma. The platelet rich plasma, or PRP, is collected after a quick blood draw. The blood is then spun down and separated from the rest of your blood. We then take the nutrient rich plasma, and use that as the medium during your microneedling session. PRP offers results that enhance regular microneedling almost 3 fold. The platelets in the plasma help to attract stem cells to the area affected and are the building blocks to repair damaged tissue. Microneedling alone starts this regenerative action, but adding in the PRP boosts the results.
